CIP
Cleaning system

descripcion-info

Description

The aim of the CIP system (“cleaning-in-place”) is to remove the waste derived from the productive process. CIP is an automatic in-situ cleaning process that does not involve dismantling the productive equipment. It consists on the circulation of a cleaning solution through the pipes and other components of the processing line, such as heat exchangers, pumps, etc. This cleaning solution flows fast through the line, generating the required friction that ensures waste removal. It is important to bear in mind that the cleaning solution ought to be suitable for all the surfaces to be cleaned. Lastly, it is important to avoid the accumulation of the cleaning solution anywhere in the equipment because over time it loses its sterilising properties.

Cleaning the processing line is a basic requirement for the hygienic production of high quality products. Cleaning cycles start immediately after each productive cycle to remove organic residues such as proteins, lipids, carbohydrates, minerals and other components that contribute to the growth of bacteria and can cause bio-corrosion. The parameters of the cleaning cycles depend on the product, the processing line, and the sanitation standards.
