Scraped-surface rotative
(RM series)



Our rotative scraped-surface heat exchanger comprises a tube bundle welded to a heating jacket. Product flows through the inner tubes in which a rotating bar equipped with scrapping elements is located. The service fluid flows through the spaces between the inner tubes and the heating jacket that covers them. This heat exchanger is further equipped with bellows or an expansion joint to balance out the differential expansion of the inner tube bundle in relation to the heating jacket during functioning, thus considerably extending its lifespan.

The scrapping elements provide three main advantages:

  • They scrape the inner surface of the tube, preventing the fouling.
  • They stir and mix the product, favouring the generation of turbulences, thus improving efficiency.
  • They reduce pressure losses thanks to the pushing movement exerted over the product.

This heat exchanger can be used in either food industry or industrial applications.
