Product recovery

The pigging system for product recovery comprises three elements:
1. An entry point
2. An exit point
3. A “pig” that goes through the pipe containing the product

The “pig” is an arrow-shaped silicon device. It is manually introduced through the entry station while the product it being processed. Secondly, process water is pumped into the processing line, pushing the ‘pig’ forward until the end of the pipe, dragging with it all the product leftovers. Once the ‘pig’ reaches the exit station, it is manually extracted to use it in the next production cycle.

This system follows an aseptic treatment that includes a heating section, in order to preserve the sterilisation of the product.
