Freezing is the most common system for the supply of vegetables in the world, although occasionally brine preservation is also seen. Aurum Process Technology has designed an aseptic system to process low acidity products, based on corrugated tube heat exchangers. The main innovation of this system is the incorporation of fluid control for particle-containing products, which contributes to fixing the weight of the drained products.

The advantages of this aseptic packaging in relation to IQF are:

  • Reduction of storage costs, given that cold storage is not needed.
  • Reduction of cooling-derived production costs.
  • Avoidance of defrost-derived weight loss.
  • Nutrients and flavours are preserved during blanching.
  • Removal of the possibility of contamination by Biological Oxygen Demand (BOD).
